  • Avoid smoking tobacco and drinking alcohol
  • Consider medication and surgery as preventive measures if you’re at high risk
  • Eat a diet rich in healthy foods, like fruit and vegetables
  • Exercise and maintain a healthy weight
  • Talk to your doctor about how often you should get screened based on your unique risk factors

Learn More, Breathe Easier, Live Better

We’re here to support you in body, mind and spirit as you navigate the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer. Our unique, multifaceted approach considers your well-being on every level throughout the journey toward recovery.

The Lung Cancer Program at AdventHealth Gordon, formerly Gordon Hospital, is committed to preventing, diagnosing and treating lung cancer.

Preventative screenings are especially important if you meet the following criteria, as the survival rate for lung cancer improves dramatically when the disease is caught in its earliest stages. You qualify for a lung cancer screening if you:

  • Are a smoker or have quit smoking within the last 15 years
  • Are age 55 or older
  • Have smoked one pack of cigarettes per day for at least 30 years or two packs per day for at least 15 years

Our Lung Cancer Screening Program is designed to catch cancer in its earliest stages, giving at-risk patients the best possible chance for a full recovery. Request a screening to receive a low-dose chest CT scan to look for signs of lung cancer, a consultation with a physician, and a personalized, comprehensive lung health plan.

If you’ve been diagnosed with lung cancer, our team of renowned oncologists offers some of the most advanced therapies available, including surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. After treatment, our team continues to provide the counseling, nutritional guidance, mentoring and support you need to live life to the fullest.
