Recognizing Knee Joint Problems

Knee pain is generally broken down into two categories: acute or chronic. Acute pain is the result of tissue injury and lasts three to six months. Chronic pain is pain that persists beyond the normal healing period, and longer than three months.

Symptoms of knee joint issues include:

  • Inability to fully straighten your knee
  • Inability to put weight on your knee
  • Knee pain with activity
  • Pain in your knees while standing or walking short distances, climbing up or down stairs, or getting in and out of chairs
  • Severe or chronic knee pain
  • Start-up knee pain or stiffness when initiating activities from a sitting position
  • Swelling or stiffness in one or more areas of the knee
  • Weakness or instability

If you’ve been living with pain and discomfort that affects your everyday life, it’s time to find lasting relief. Trust in our expert care team to create a tailored treatment plan that gets you back to feeling like yourself.

Where Care Is Rewarding for You

We’ve been recognized for our efforts to stay at the forefront of orthopedic treatments, as well as for our high standards of patient care.

AdventHealth Gordon has been awarded The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for hip and knee joint replacement surgery. This accreditation recognizes AdventHealth Gordon’s commitment to the highest level of safety and quality care for its patients.

The Joint Commission

At AdventHealth Gordon, our skilled orthopedic surgeons use state-of-the-art robotics, including Mako® SmartRobotics, to streamline your procedure and help you feel better faster. With this technology, a 3D model of your joint is created and assists your surgeon during your procedure.

Robotic surgery empowers surgeons and patients through:

  • More precise resurfacing of only the arthritic portion of the joint
  • Preservation of healthy joint tissue and bone
  • Facilitation of optimal implant positioning, resulting in a more natural-feeling joint
  • Quicker recovery and a shorter hospital stay

Our physicians are here to talk through your surgery options with you to determine if you could benefit from robotic-arm assisted technology for your joints.

ExcelsiusGPS has several advantages, including:

  • Less exposure to radiation
  • More precise positioning of implants during surgery
