Abdo Bachoura, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in the hand and wrist. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center.
Dr. Bachoura treats all conditions of the upper extremity with a special focus on hand and wrist fractures, as well as arthritis, nerve injuries, tendon injuries and Dupuytren’s disease. He is active in orthopedic research, having published a number of articles and book chapters on surgical techniques, technologies and outcomes of the hand and wrist.
Dr. David Hirsch is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand and wrist conditions. His areas of expertise include hand and wrist pathology, nerve and tendon disorders, wrist and elbow arthroplasty and arthroscopy. He also provides expert fracture care for a variety of orthopedic injuries.
Dr. Hirsch’s approach to care includes acting as the point person for his patients’ treatment planning, ensuring thorough communication in a multidisciplinary medical team. He actively explores novel approaches to orthopedic care while emphasizing patient education and treatment tailored to each patient’s needs.
Dr. Kachooei is a board-certified orthopedic hand and wrist surgeon who specializes in all conditions of the hand, wrist and elbow. He completed medical school and orthopedic residency at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences in Iran. He spent over two years as a Research Fellow in Hand and Elbow Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Kachooei completed a clinical PhD in Elbow Surgery, a Clinical Fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery, and a Clinical Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery Fellowship. His research led to nine patents, more than 90 peer-reviewed articles and many international presentations. He has been Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Archives of Bone and Joint Surgery for over a decade.
Dr. Kachooei is dedicated to patient care and educating medical students, residents and other trainees. His number one goal is patient satisfaction.

G. Russell Huffman, MD, MPH, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, an expert in shoulder and elbow surgery and holds additional subspecialty board certification in orthopedic sports medicine. His clinical expertise includes arthroscopy of the shoulder and elbow, tendon and ligament reconstructions of the elbow, simple and complex shoulder stabilization surgeries and both joint replacement and reconstructive surgeries of the shoulder and elbow.
Dr. Huffman has served as an associate professor at the University of Pennsylvania for 16 years, has over 100 combined book chapters and peer-reviewed scientific publications and has taught, volunteered and lectured nationally and internationally. An Orlando native, he felt inspired to return to Orlando and is excited to serve Central Florida.
Dr. Oshikoya is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the open and arthroscopic treatment of all conditions of the shoulder and elbow including arthritis, tendon disorders, fractures, and instability. He is particularly interested in complex problems, involving bone loss, irreparable tendon tears and failed previous surgery.
Dr. Oshikoya attended the University of Florida where he achieved his Doctorate in Pharmacy and induction into the Rho Chi Pharmaceutical Honor Society. He received his Doctorate in Medicine from Florida International University and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Society, as well as the Gold Humanism Honor Society, reflecting his exemplary humanistic patient care.

Atif K. Ahmed, MD, specializes in fracture care — both complex and straightforward — and malunion and nonunion of fractures. He has been part of the team at Rothman Orthopaedics in Philadelphia since 2018.
Dr. Ahmed obtained his medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, with honors before completing his residency in orthopedic surgery at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City. He completed his fellowship in orthopedic traumatology at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Ryan Durfee, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in musculoskeletal oncology. He diagnoses, treats and removes malignant tumors of the bone, soft tissue and nerves, including cancers that have spread to the bone. He also provides expert care for a variety of orthopedic injuries.
Dr. Durfee’s approach to care includes being the point person for his patients’ treatment planning, ensuring thorough communication in a multidisciplinary medical team. He has a strong interest in regenerative medicine and actively explores novel approaches to disease while advocating for patient education and personalized therapies.
A Florida native, Dr. Hawks is the Orthopedic Trauma Medical Director of the AdventHealth Central Florida Division and Rothman Orthopaedics multispecialty team. In this role, he helps create a patient-centric delivery of care for our Central Florida community. He is an active member of several national and international medical organizations.
Dr. Hawks completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Creighton University/University of Nebraska Medical Center and his subspecialty training in Orthopedic Traumatology at the world-renowned Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland. He began his career at AdventHealth in 2009, caring for Central Florida patients with orthopedic injuries.
Dr. Andrew Clair is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with extensive training in hip and knee replacement. He specializes in total hip and knee arthroplasty, as well as complex revision surgeries of the hip and knee. He earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed his orthopedic surgical residency at NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital. There, he was selected for the Clinician Scientist training tract, where he spent an extra year performing full-time orthopedic research between his second and third years of residency training.
Dr. Clair is an award-winning, published physician and continues to be active in orthopedic research. He has particular interest in hip and knee arthroplasty outcomes, infection management in total joint arthroplasty, revision arthroplasty techniques, and same-day/outpatient total joint arthroplasty.
Andrew Pepper, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee joint reconstruction. Dr. Pepper provides comprehensive hip and knee arthroplasty care, putting each patient’s whole-person health first. His practice focuses on the entire continuum of care that is individualized to each patient while never sacrificing quality, value or accessibility.
Dr. Pepper completed medical school at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine and his residency at Henry Ford Hospital as part of the Categorical Orthopaedic Surgery Residency program. He completed his adult reconstruction fellowship at New York University Langone Orthopaedic Hospital/Insall Scott Kelly Institute.
Jeff Petrie, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who has practiced in the Central Florida area since 2016. He has extensive hip and knee replacement expertise, including complex revision surgeries. His practice also focuses on minimally invasive surgery, including the direct anterior approach to hip replacement and robotic total and partial knee replacements. He also performs preservation surgeries for the hip and knee.
Dr. Petrie has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles and book chapters, presents at national orthopedic meetings and teaches orthopedic surgeons in training. His current research interests include minimally invasive joint replacement surgery, robotic and quick-recovery hip and knee replacement surgery, revision hip and knee replacement, and joint preservation treatments for hip dysplasia and hip impingement.
Dr. Epstein is a board-certified physician specializing in sports medicine. He has served as a team physician for the Cincinnati Reds minor league affiliate Daytona Tortugas, Bethune Cookman University, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona State College, Legacy Dance Studio and several local high schools. He previously worked with SpaceX to perform exercise treadmill testing for cardiovascular evaluation.
His areas of expertise include physical fitness and the treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal injuries, including managing sports-related concussions. He holds memberships among several professional societies, including the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. King is a fellowship-trained, board-certified sports medicine physician specializing in orthopedic and sports-related care for concussions and shoulder, hip and knee conditions. He focuses on nonoperative solutions like lifestyle modifications, rehabilitation, injections, biologic treatments and injury prevention.
After obtaining his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine, Dr. King completed a family medicine residency at Community Health Network and a sports medicine fellowship at Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC).
Dr. King has served as a team physician for multiple colleges and provided physician coverage for sporting events and NCAA tournaments. He has served on NCAA and health network advisory committees, been involved in community outreach programs and presented at multiple national conferences.
Dr. Money is an orthopedic sports medicine physician specializing in shoulder and knee conditions. He treats all sports-related conditions, with a particular focus on arthroscopy (minimally invasive surgery) and ligament repair and reconstruction.
Dr. Money received his medical degree from Georgetown University Medical School and completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at Prisma Health/University of South Carolina. He followed his residency with a Sports Medicine Orthopaedic fellowship at Stanford University. Today, he is active in orthopedic research and has published numerous articles and book chapters on orthopedic topics focused on sports medicine.
Dr. Mullins is a fellowship-trained primary care sports medicine physician. She uses non-surgical treatments to address a variety of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. Her clinical interests include youth athlete injury prevention, overuse injuries, concussion, tennis medicine and bone stress injury management.
Dr. Mullins currently serves as the team physician for Orangewood Christian School. She has authored peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters on a range of sports medicine topics, including the prevention of sport-related injury in youth athletes, concussion management, exercise prescription and exercise physiology.
Luke Oh, MD, is the Medical Director of Orthopedic Sports Medicine at AdventHealth Orthopedic Institute. He is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, medical educator, research scientist, entrepreneur and innovator. He has extensive experience working with many professional teams, including the New England Patriots, the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Bruins.
Dr. Oh's clinical interests include treating shoulder and elbow injuries in athletes, rotator cuff tears, ACL rupture, meniscus tears and osteochondritis dissecans. Dr. Oh's current research includes artificial intelligence for diagnosis and treatment in orthopedics, biomechanical investigation of various surgical techniques, and tissue engineering to improve healing of the rotator cuff, biceps, ACL and meniscus.
Dr. Osbahr is a board-certified orthopedic sports medicine surgeon and serves as Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery and Managing Partner for Rothman Orthopaedic Institute - Florida. Dr. Osbahr is recognized as an international leader in orthopedic sports medicine and is actively involved in surgical, clinical and basic science research.
He is intricately involved in national and local educational initiatives for the prevention of youth and adult sports injuries. Dr. Osbahr is also the author of 70 articles and chapters and is a presenter at international and local orthopedic-related meetings. He has also led several research initiatives, including serving on the Shoulder Research Committee for Major League Baseball and the Research Committee for Major League Soccer.
Dr. Pettyjohn is a fellowship-trained sports medicine physician specializing in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries of athletes and non-athletes. He provides his patients with non-operative treatment options including musculoskeletal diagnostic and procedural ultrasound, platelet-rich plasma injections (PRP), viscosupplementation, trigger point injections and concussion management.
Dr. Pettyjohn completed his residency and sports medicine fellowship at the University of Florida Health Shands Hospital. During fellowship, he served as fellow team physician for a number of collegiate and high school teams including the University of Florida NCAA Division I and club sport athletes.
Dr. Pettyjohn is active in teaching and research focused on sports-related topics and holds a professional membership with the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.
Dr. Todd Prochnow is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who provides expert diagnosis and treatment for a broad array of musculoskeletal issues ranging from arthritis and sports injuries to osteoporosis and fractures. He also treats shoulder pain and injuries such as tears and rotator cuff injuries. Dr. Prochnow is a graduate of the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and undertook his residency training at Mount Clemens General Hospital in Michigan. He completed fellowship training in orthopedic spine surgery at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville. Dr. Prochnow has been in practice since 2002.
Dr. John Ruder is a fellowship-trained sports medicine surgeon specializing in all areas of sports-related injury prevention and treatment. He has a particular interest in hip preservation and treats common and complex sports-related injuries of the shoulder and knee.
Dr. Ruder previously provided on-site medical coverage for Tuskegee University, SEC Baseball Tournament, Birmingham Barons, Birmingham Ballet and Vestavia Hills High School. His research interests include sports medicine and hip preservation, having published numerous articles on these topics. He has also presented his research at multiple local and national orthopedic conferences.
Nicole (Nikki) Wilson, MD, is a fellowship-trained, non-operative sports medicine physician. She specializes in non-surgical treatments for a variety of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. Her clinical interests include injury prevention and youth athletics, especially volleyball and gymnastics. She is trained in the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound to diagnose orthopedic conditions and to aid with proper needle placement during injection therapies such as corticosteroid, hyaluronic acid and platelet-rich plasma.
Dr. Wilson obtained her medical degree from Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University and followed with a residency in family medicine with a concentration in sports medicine at Halifax Family Medicine in Daytona Beach. She completed her fellowship in primary care sports medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.
Dr. Youmans is a board-certified non-surgical orthopedic and sports medicine specialist. He uses treatments like physical therapy, activity modifications, medication and immobilization to treat all types of sports-related injuries and other orthopedic conditions.
Dr. Youmans obtained his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, graduating as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his residency training in family medicine and a fellowship in primary care sports medicine, where he trained under world-renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews.

As a board-certified podiatric foot and ankle surgeon with over 30 years of experience, Gerald (Jay) Bornstein, DPM, FACFAS, diagnoses and treats any ailment or injury to the toes, feet and ankles. He offers a variety of care options, from diabetic foot care and sports medicine to reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. He also trains podiatric physicians as the Director of the Podiatric Medicine and Surgical Residency Training Program at AdventHealth East Orlando.
Tara G. Moncman, DO, is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in treating all foot and ankle conditions. Dr. Moncman has a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery to treat bunions and other forefoot disorders. She also specializes in total ankle replacements, deformity correction, arthritis and neuromuscular conditions like stroke and Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.
Dr. Moncman has run ultra-marathons on five continents and has a special interest in tendon/ligament repair/reconstruction, cartilage repair and arthroscopy for athletes. She has authored numerous research publications and is a host of the Orthopod-Cast Gamechanger podcast series on new treatments in foot and ankle surgery.
Dr. Christopher L. Reeves is a nationally recognized, board-certified podiatric foot and ankle surgeon who has served Central Florida since 2004. He provides comprehensive care for foot and ankle conditions and has specialized training in complex reconstruction, lower extremity trauma and total ankle replacement.
Dr. Reeves is a leader in foot and ankle care and an internationally recognized speaker who has given hundreds of lectures around the globe. He also works to help develop innovative products involving the latest total ankle replacement and Charcot deformity implants.
He is the Medical Director of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery for AdventHealth Orthopedic Institute and a faculty member for the AdventHealth Florida Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency Program and the AdventHealth Florida Orthopedic Residency Program.
Dr. Alvarez is a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Florida and earned his medical degree from Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. He completed his orthopedic surgical residency at the University of California, Irvine, and a fellowship in spine surgery at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital with Dr. Frank Eismont.
Dr. Alvarez has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and presented his research around the country. In medical school, he served as president of the American Medical Association at Northwestern, participating in local and national medical advocacy. He is active in the national spine community, attending many conferences and labs to ensure he brings the most current treatments to his patients.

Daniel Fassett, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic neurosurgeon specializing in treating spinal disorders, including degenerative conditions, spinal tumors and spinal deformities. Dr. Fassett worked for fifteen years at the University of Illinois College of Medicine where he served as Department Head, Director of Spinal Surgery, and Fellowship Director for Spinal Surgery. He has trained 15 fellows in spinal surgery, including international fellows from India, Brazil and Syria. He has published over 50 articles in professional journals, written countless book chapters and has given numerous international presentations on spinal surgery.
Brian K. Goldberg, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained interventional physiatrist providing comprehensive, non-surgical spine care. He attended medical school at NYU School of Medicine and completed his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency training at NYU Rusk Institute. He completed a fellowship in spine medicine from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Spine Institute.
Dr. Goldberg previously served in several leadership roles, helping form efficient spine treatment protocols for patients by taking a multidisciplinary team approach. Dr. Goldberg’s clinical interests include treating cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine conditions, SI joint dysfunction, and myofascial pain conditions using diagnostic and therapeutic non-surgical interventions for rapid pain relief and functional recovery.
Anita Vijapura, MD, is a board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physician. She served as chief resident at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia and completed a fellowship in interventional pain management at OSS Health in York, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Vijapura provides non-operative spine and musculoskeletal care for patients of all ages, focusing on improving their overall quality of life through minimally invasive techniques and without heavy reliance on medications. She treats sciatica, radiculopathy, spinal stenosis, joint pain, arthritis and other neck and back pains.
