Meet the Medical Team Behind Your Hometown Team

Meet the AdventHealth experts helping your favorite UCF athletes achieve their best health and performance.

As a valued member of the AdventHealth team, Joseph has a long history with UCF Athletics. Starting with baseball in 2010, he has guided the health and performance of the football program since 2012. Prior to joining UCF, Chris was an assistant athletic trainer at Northern Illinois, working with volleyball, baseball and football.

Joseph is nationally Certified as ATC by Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer, a Licensed Athletic Trainer in the State of Florida, a National Academy of Sports Medicine Performance Enhancement Specialist, and an ImPACT Trained Athletic Trainer through ImPACT concussion evaluation system.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Towson University in 2005, and Master of Science in Kinesiology from Michigan while serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with football.

Sheila Klausner is a dedicated AdventHealth physical therapist who provides care to UCF student athletes. Sheila has more than 24 years of experience as a physical therapist with a long list of specialties. She has been working with UCF athletes for 12 years.

Her expertise and talents have been influenced by her prior work with the Arizona Diamondbacks, the University of South Carolina sports medicine department, the USA Swimming National Team and even the 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympic Games. She is certified in strength and conditioning by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, board-certified in orthopedic physical therapy, a licensed massage therapist, and a certified orthopedic manual therapist through the Maitland-Australian Approach.

Sheila earned her Bachelor of Science degree from North Carolina State University, where she also competed in collegiate swimming, and her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Miami.
