Erica Stockwell, DO, MBA, FACOG

Gynecologic Surgeon

Dr. Erica Stockwell is an advanced gynecologic surgeon who always goes above and beyond. She joined AdventHealth Medical Group from Las Vegas, where she was Assistant Fellowship Program Director for an internationally acclaimed minimally invasive surgery program and Medical Director of the Las Vegas Pelvic Health Center. Utilizing her background in biomedical engineering, her passion is to develop safer and more effective surgical innovations. She currently holds patents on several diverse technology-based medical and surgical devices. She is also interested in international health and has participated in medical missions to Tanzania, Peru, and Colombia.

Sarah Cappleman, MD

OB/GYN

Dr. Sarah Cappleman is a board-certified OB/GYN and Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists. During her residency, Dr. Cappleman undertook special training in laparoscopic and robotic surgery and earned multiple awards for clinical excellence and medical teaching. In her current practice, Dr. Cappleman provides obstetrical care for low- and moderate-risk pregnancies along with preventive and complex gynecologic care such as annual exams, family planning and contraception, and laparoscopic surgical procedures for benign gynecologic conditions.

Benjamin Davis, DO

OB/GYN

Benjamin Davis, DO, is an OB/GYN and a graduate of the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He served as a resident physician at Wellspan York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania where he gained experience in low- and high-risk obstetric and gynecologic care. Dr. Davis has proficiency with da Vinci surgical robotic systems and laparoscopic surgery examinations. When not serving patients, Dr. Davis enjoys scuba diving, rock climbing and playing the drums.

Kathryn Gottschalk, DO

OB/GYN

Kathryn Gottschalk, DO, is a highly experienced Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from John Carroll University in University Heights, OH, in 2011 and a doctorate from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, PA, in 2015. She completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine in Kissimmee, FL, and she previously completed her internship at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Gottschalk has contributed to several scholarly publications, is a board-certified member of the American Osteopathic Association, and is a Junior Fellow in Practice and a board-certified member of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Varsha Ramnarine, MD

OB/GYN

Varsha Ramnarine, MD, is a board-eligible OB/GYN whose outstanding credentials include residency training at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Queens, New York where she served as Chief Resident. During that time, she also served as the Sepsis Committee OBGYN team leader, received the Award for Excellence in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery and earned the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine Residency Program Award for Excellence in Obstetrics. Dr. Ramnarine’s interests include the study of salpingectomy for sterilization and neonatal outcomes in pregnancies complicated by diabetes.

Allan Adajar, MD, FACOG

Gynecologic Surgeon

Dr. Adajar is a board-certified OB/GYN with advanced fellowship training in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. A pioneer of mini-laparoscopic techniques, Dr. Adajar is able to consistently perform complex surgeries, including hysterectomies, with minimal scarring and an opioid-free recovery. He joined AdventHealth Medical Group’s exceptional GYN surgery team in Central Florida from his native Chicago, where he held multiple leadership positions including President of the Illinois Institute of Gynecology & Advanced Pelvic Surgery, and Women's Health Program Coordinator & Clinical Supervisor at Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center. He is currently a Senior Advisory Board Member of the American Institute of Minimally Invasive Surgery and head of his own private practice which earned elite designation as a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery.

Subhia Rehman, MD

OB/GYN

Subhia Rehman, MD, is an OB/GYN physician who joined AdventHealth Medical Group from Michigan State University's Hurley Medical Center in Flint, where she completed a rigorous obstetrics and gynecology residency. A native of Kashmir and graduate of the University of Bari and the University of Milan's medical school in Italy, she enjoys exploring different cultures and speaks five languages including English, Italian, Urdu, Hindi and Kashmiri. Dr. Rehman earned multiple scholarships while at the University of Milan and was honored multiple times with the Apple Award—a token of appreciation from nurses and patients – during her residency at Hurley Medical Center. She is also a recipient of 2019 Outstanding Resident in Gynecology Oncology by SGO and the 2019 Chief Resident award.

Xavier Román Hernandez, MD

OB/GYN

Dr. Xavier Román is a board-certified OB/GYN physician specializing in general and high-risk obstetrics; minimally invasive surgery; and adult and adolescent gynecology. A native of Puerto Rico, he was inspired to become a physician by his mother’s OB/GYN, who saved his life when he was born. He attended Florida State University on scholarship and earned his medical degree with clinical honors at Ponce Health Sciences University. He was later an award-winning resident at Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies. Dr. Román’s philosophy of patient care is “patients come first,” and what he finds most enjoyable about his job is being part of a baby’s delivery and seeing parents’ reactions from the first moment when they hold their child. He is fluent in English and a native Spanish speaker.

Robert Mutch, DO

OB/GYN

Robert G. Mutch, DO, FACOG, is a board-certified OB/GYN physician with more than 20 years of experience. He joined AdventHealth Medical Group from Bad Axe, Michigan, where he served as Chief of Surgery and Chief of Robotic Surgery at McLaren Thumb Region hospital and was a clinical assistant professor at Michigan State University and Central Michigan University for many years. An academic scholarship recipient and honors graduate of the University of Arizona, Dr. Mutch went on to earn his medical degree at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Iowa. He then undertook his internship and OB/GYN residency training at Mt. Clemens Regional Hospital in Michigan. He and his wife are the proud parents of twins.

D. Ashley Hill, MD

OB/GYN

Ashley Hill, MD, is a Medical Director of obstetrics and gynecology at AdventHealth Medical Group and Associate Director of the AdventHealth Graduate Medical Education Program’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Additionally, Dr. Hill is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the UCF College of Medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine, where he also completed his residency. Dr. Hill specializes in abnormal uterine bleeding, treatment of uterine fibroids, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, normal and high-risk pregnancies, and ultrasonography. He particularly enjoys meeting and helping educate patients. He has published a number of papers in medical journals, is the Medical Director of the M.O.S.T. obstetrics simulation program, and serves on the SCOPE office safety program for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Mark S. Crider, MD

OB/GYN

Mark Crider, MD, is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, and part of the academic practice at Loch Haven OB/GYN. He received his medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, and completed his residency at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. Dr. Crider specializes in infertility, polycystic ovarian syndrome, minimally invasive gynecological surgery, and normal and high-risk pregnancies. In addition to treating patients, Dr. Crider is also a celebrated infertility researcher.

Lynda J. Balint, MD

OB/GYN

Lynda Balint, MD, is a highly experienced, board-certified OB-GYN physician. She received her medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in New York. She specializes in menopausal health, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, high-risk pregnancies, pediatric gynecology and vulvar disorders. Dr. Balint’s expertise has earned her the American Registry Patients’ Choice Award three years in a row, the American Registry Compassionate Doctor Recognition Award and the American Registry On-Time Physician Award.

Scott A. Boone, MD

OB/GYN

Scott Boone, MD, is part of AdventHealth Medical Group's academic OB-GYN practice at Loch Haven. He earned his medical degree on a full academic scholarship from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Florida-Jacksonville. Prior to his training in Jacksonville, Dr. Boone undertook residency training in family practice at the University of South Carolina. Dr. Boone has previously served as a Chief Investigator for SE Clinical Research, involving multiple studies in the field of OB-GYN. He has also served as the OB-GYN department head of AdventHealth hospitals in Florida. Dr. Boone specializes in gynecologic ultrasound, hormonal therapy, difficult laparoscopic procedures and high-risk pregnancies.

Gargey M. Patil, MD

OB/GYN

Gargey Patil, MD, is an award-winning OB-GYN physician with over 15 years of experience. He serves as the Assistant Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology with the AdventHealth Graduate Education Program. Dr. Patil received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College and completed his residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Hahnemann University Hospital, where he won the Obstetrical Society of Philadelphia's Resident Bowl Award. Dr. Patil extends his medical expertise to students by serving as a long-standing member of the clinical faculty at Florida State College of Medicine.

Angel Gonzalez, MD

Gynecologic Surgeon

Angel Gonzalez, MD, FACOG is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Gonzalez received his medical degree from Universidad Autonoma deSinaloa, Facultad de Medicina in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico. He completed a fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at The Institute for Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery/St. Luke’s University Hospital in Bethlehem, PA, where he was recognized for academic excellence. Dr. Rios is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Steven D. McCarus, MD, FACOG

Gynecologic Surgeon

Steven McCarus, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified and internationally recognized OB-GYN surgeon and the Chief of Gynecological Surgery at AdventHealth Celebration. He is known for his development of the McCarus Hysterectomy Technique, which physicians routinely travel from across the country to learn from him. In addition to well-woman gynecologic care, Dr. McCarus specializes in treating complex gynecologic conditions such as abnormal uterine bleeding, advanced endometriosis, infertility, menopausal symptoms, pelvic adhesions and pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence and interstitial cystitis, uterine fibroids, and painful bladder syndrome. He is a graduate of the Marshall University School of Medicine in West Virginia and carried out his residency training at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Maryland.

Preeyanka Nagar, DO

OB/GYN

Preeyanka Nagar, DO, is a board-certified OB/GYN and a graduate of the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania and served as an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. Dr. Nagar cares for women of all ages and is experienced in high-risk obstetrics, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, family planning and menopausal care. She also enjoys volunteering to provide primary medical care to underserved populations as a member of DOCARE International.

Brittany Burns-Vu, MSN, APRN, FNP-C

APRN

Brittany Burns-Vu, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, earned her Master of Science degree in Nursing with Family Nurse Practitioner certification from South University in Orlando after completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing with high honors at AdventHealth University. She also completed a medical mission trip to Guatemala led by Nova Southeastern University. Brittany joined our gynecologic surgery practice in Winter Park after working at AdventHealth Orlando, first as a coordinator in the Perinatal High-Risk OB Unit and then as an RN in the emergency room, ICU, women’s health, PCU and imaging departments.

Mamie Rogers, MD

OB/GYN

Dr. Mamie M. Rogers is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, with special interests in prenatal care, minimally invasive procedures and adolescent gynecology. Dr. Rogers provides care for women in all stages of life, with services including annual exams, birth control and pregnancy care. After earning her medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Medical University, Dr. Rogers completed her OB/GYN residency training at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh, which is part of the Temple University Medical School and where she achieved Chief Resident status and earned the Best Resident Teacher Award. She next served as an OB/GYN in private practice in Maryland before relocating to Tavares in 2010.

Marilyn Mayne, DO

OB/GYN

Marilyn Mayne, DO, FACOOG, is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, and a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Mayne provides a wide variety of obstetric and gynecologic care including annual exams, family planning, prenatal and pregnancy services, and menopause management. She earned her medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury in 2000. Dr. Mayne completed a one-year internship at St. Joseph Hospital in Philadelphia before undertaking her obstetrics and gynecology residency training at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She next served in the United States Air Force as a flight commander, Medical Director of obstetrics/gynecology and Major in the Medical Corps based at Misawa Air Base in Japan. She has been practicing obstetrics and gynecology in Lake County since 2010.

Omar Zwain, MD

Gynecologic Surgeon

Omar Zwain, MD, is a fellowship-trained, board-certified, minimally invasive gynecologic and robotic surgeon. He offers women with fibroids and other gynecologic problems the best-possible scientific evidence to guide and inform their treatment decisions, and minimally invasive solutions when appropriate. Dr. Zwain strives to provide excellence in gynecologic care through evidence-based medicine and some of the most advanced, minimally invasive gynecologic procedures.

Jessica Golden, PA-C

Jessica Golden, PA-C, is a certified physician assistant with a special interest in patient centered OBGYN care. After graduating magna cum laude from the University of Florida in Gainesville, she earned a Master of Health Science degree in physician assistant studies from Duke University. She was also selected by the Duke Physician Assistant Program to receive the Physician Assistant Leaders in Underserved Communities (PA-LUC) scholarship that included special leadership training. Jessica is dedicated to improving the overall physical, emotional and sexual health of women of all ages through expert care and preventive medicine.

Prayuk Waran, MD

Gynecologic Surgeon

Prayuk Andrew Waran, MD, is a board-certified OB/GYN physician. After graduating from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, Dr. Waran received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. He went on to complete a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at New York University Downtown Hospital. A highly experienced clinician, Dr. Waran specializes in minimally invasive laparoscopic and DaVinci robotic surgery, pelvic reconstructive surgery and urinary incontinence.
