According to the National Institutes of Health, roughly one in three women in the United States is affected by pelvic-floor disorders that can lead to urinary incontinence, pelvic-organ prolapse, or pelvic discomfort. At AdventHealth Medical Group, we provide urogynecology, colorectal, and pelvic rehabilitation services specifically designed to help women of all ages improve their health and restore their quality of life.

Our Personalized Approach

Improving the quality of life for patients is the primary focus for Bela Kudish, MD, a urogynecologist at AdventHealth. That involves a multidisciplinary approach that addresses each patient's unique health care needs with input from all team members. According to Dr. Kudish, this opens up the treatment plan to a range of approaches, from less-invasive treatments, like physical therapy, to colorectal surgery if necessary.

We’re Here to Support and Empower You

‌Our care team understands the stress that pelvic-floor disorders can cause. We have created this guide to help ease your mind and to provide you with answers to questions, including:

  • What conditions does urogynecology include?
  • What are the symptoms of these conditions?
  • How do I know if I need pelvic-floor rehabilitation?
  • Are there non-surgical or minimally invasive procedures to treat my condition?

Advanced Pelvic Surgery
Our highly skilled surgeons are leaders and teachers in their field. They provide a wide range of surgical treatments, including the latest minimally invasive surgical techniques (vaginal, laparoscopic and robotic), which reduce discomfort and shorten recovery time.

Specialized Pelvic-Floor Physical Therapy
When your pelvic-floor muscles are too tight or too weak they can cause incontinence (loss of bladder control) or even pain. Our board-certified physical therapists have special training in treating bowel and bladder function, pelvic pain, abdominal/organ conditions, and other pelvic-floor dysfunctions. They use the latest advances in rehabilitative techniques, including computerized biofeedback, and will provide you with strengthening and relaxation techniques you can practice at home.
